Christmas Charity

Quilt Raffle

For our Veteran Christmas Charity

Every year our chapter takes the funds we collect from our 50/50 raffles during the year, and do something for Veterans and their families for Christmas. This year we want to help a homeless Veteran camp as well as a Veteran and their family.

This year one of our members made a beautiful quilt to be raffled off at the 2017 West Rally. The member that made the quilt, Kurt Barto, belongs to a quilting club. If you saw the quilt Kurt made, you know why everyone that saw it wanted to win it. It had not only a motorcycle theme, but also a 2017 VRA West Rally theme. Even I wanted it…. Kurt told the members of the quilting club what he was doing with the quilt he was making, and they found a soft spot in their hearts, and gave him another quilt to help out our cause. That being said, this quilt isn’t motorcycle themed. It’s a high quality handmade quilt that anyone would love to own. The quilt is 55” square with an overall swirling four petal flower design. (This is the description from the American Quilter’s Society.)

The Phoenix Vulcan Riders are selling raffle tickets so everyone can have a chance to not only win the quilt, but to make the Christmas season of a Veteran and their family a more enjoyable one and help homeless Vets.

To purchase your raffle ticket, go to and go to the Christmas Charity Link. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. There will be a Pay Pal link for payment. I will fill out your raffle ticket(s) and send you a picture of them via text. The drawing will be at our Christmas Party on December 2nd.

So, win a Quilt, and help some Vets.
